Many people actively avoid the dentist, not out of laziness but out of fear. At Lion Dental Care, we completely understand and want to make your experience as amazing as possible. We want all of our patients to feel at ease and comfortable when visiting our practise. Some patients may want to Meet The Team beforehand.
Prolonged aversion from the dentist can lead to a number of health problems such as gum disease and possibly tooth loss. A simple check-up can save you so much hassle in the future. Based in Stourbridge, here at Lion Dental Care that for those with dental phobia, attending or even making a dental appointment is a big step, but your comfort and convenience is our priority.
Your convenience is our priority
If you’re nervous about visiting our practice due to concerns over accessibility, we’d like to assure all patients that your satisfaction is at the heart of what we do. Our purpose built, ground floor practice has been thoughtfully designed with our patients’ comfort and accessibility in mind. Our site has wheelchair access, free on-site parking and an onsite Pharmacy.
We promise to:
- Encourage our patients to talk openly regarding how they’re feeling. If your dentist is aware that you are feeling nervous, they can do everything they can to help put you at ease.
- Answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment and encourage you to ask as many as you wish. It’s important that you fully understand and are comfortable with your proposed treatment plan. We want you to feel happy and confident in our care.
- Allow patients to bring a family member or friend with them if it will put you at ease. We support all patients to do whatever they can to help them.
- Establish a ‘stop’ signal, so you are in complete control of your treatment and can stop it at any point.
Should I tell the dentist how I’m feeling?
We really recommend having an open and honest conversation with either your dentist or another member of our team. If we know that you have concerns about your appointment, we can then talk to you about making it as easy and comfortable as possible.
Is sedation an option?
Under certain circumstances, if the dentist feels this is appropriate then the option of sedation can be discussed for your treatment.
What happens during my first appointment?
If this is your first time seeing us, your dentist will examine your teeth and gums. If you have visited the dentist for a specific problem, this will be discussed and examined. Following this, appropriate treatment will be discussed with you. Your dentist will explain what is going on throughout the appointment and we encourage you to ask any questions you may have.
Can I bring a friend with me?
At Lion Dental Care, if you feel that bringing a loved one in with you for your appointment then that is absolutely fine. We want to make sure our patients are at ease.
