What are the advantages of Invisalign?

At Lion Dental Centre we are passionate about giving our patients exceptional care with the latest modern developments in dentistry. We want to provide our patients with a beautiful smile no matter their age or circumstance, which is why we’re proud to offer Invisalign at our Stourbridge Practice.  But what are the advantages of Invisalign?

1. Invisalign is virtually invisible

Invisalign’s most noted feature is its ability to remain virtually undetectable, allowing you to straighten your teeth and obtain exceptional results discreetly.  Some people feel self-conscious about undergoing orthodontic procedures beyond childhood, but there is no need. The desire for wanting a perfect smile next stops, and your age shouldn’t be the thing stopping you either. A recent BOS study revealed that dentists are seeing a significant rise in adult orthodontics, with 87% of patients aged 26-55+. It is never too late to make a change to feel beautiful in your own smile, and the subtle nature of Invisalign means that you don’t have to wait until after your treatment to feel confident.

2. Invisalign is flexible around YOUR lifestyle

Invisalign was created with patients in mind, and the transparent aligners are removable and very easy to care for. Although it is advised to wear clear aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day; patients are encouraged to remove them for meals, and are welcome to remove them for a night out or special event occasionally if they are replaced afterwards. The flexible nature of Invisalign contrasts with the traditional metal brace, which is fixed for the duration of a patient’s treatment. Invisalign gives our patients the opportunity to be their true selves despite undergoing orthodontic treatment. Invisalign treatments allow patients to see virtual representations of your teeth at the end of your treatment, as well as their treatment plan.

3. Invisalign is more comfortable

Traditional fixed braces restrain your teeth with uncomfortable metal brackets and wires, which can graze your inner cheeks, and gums and feel irritating. Fixed braces can lead to tooth discolouration, and breakage, with eating and drinking becoming stressful for traditional brace patients at times.  With Invisalign, the only slight discomfort patients may feel is when their teeth initially move when trays are changed, but our aligners are specially designed to only cause controlled movement for specific teeth that have been chosen at that stage of the treatment. As well as reducing pain, this also allows Orthodontists and patients to design elements of their smile at the end of the treatment.
